Birds choose wealthy neighbourhoods

It would seem that even birds have a good taste in which property that they choose to nest and feed in, with a recent study by a research team from Sheffield University found that when it comes to urban birds the largest populated areas by the birds is related directly to the area itself, and they do prefer the wealthier areas.

The reasoning behind this is simple, people who live in larger houses tend to be wealthier than people who don’t, and therefore they are more likely to provide the birds with food, water and somewhere safe for them to get it, like a bird table.

Other areas where people are struggling have enough to worry about without the expense and performance of buying a bird table and keeping well stocked. However having said all of that, it is estimated that sixty thousand tons of food is left out for the birds by people every year, so not everyone is mean!
