Property pain in Spain

For many years now moving to Spain, whether it is for retirement or just to have a change of life style has been a dream for many brits some of whom have managed to pickup their root and make the move over to sunnier shores.

But recently the property market of there has been struggling just as it has been doing everywhere around the world. But in Spain it is slightly different because of the property laws, most people have heard of land grabs where developers seize land and build on it, no matter who is currently living there.

These factors along with the alleged corruption of council officials have really made buyers be very aware; in fact some are looking into to completely different markets altogether. It is understood that around fifteen per cent of all the apartments in Spain are empty, and the figure does not include holiday homes.
