Your home is no longer your castle

Changes in the way that criminals are treated could leave the householders of the UK worrying about the way that the authorities are planning on punishing burglars.

It seems that the law is working in the favour of the lawbreaker rather than the other way around. No longer can a householder protect their family and possessions by defending themselves against an intruder.

But the burglar is now not likely to be sent to prison either; they are more likely to have to do a bit of unpaid work or simply a curfew.

Surely this is going to make the matter worse, as there is no serious deterrent to make them think about their actions.
