Two million more people on property ladder

Prime Minister Gordon Brown claims that there are two million more people on the property ladder as a direct result of what the Labour government have achieved. However worries about debt levels were dismissed as he believes that this just proves that more people are able to afford to buy their own homes.

He went onto say about the current level as being a good thing, and that having a strong economy would mean that it is only a small minority of homeowners who are getting themselves into financial difficulties.

The conservatives naturally are trying to raise the question of debt and how much mortgages are costing people.

But the market and economy are fairly stable these days and therefore could be a good time to buy.
