Houses are dangerous

We all know that certain everyday things are bad for our health, but sometimes this is taken just too far, like this report on the work of the Environmental Protection Agency, if take this word for word, then we may as well give up right now!

They claim that modern day living is killing us, there are chemicals in the carpets and bathrooms, toxic waste sites, smoke, and dumps just to start with. But apparently the very worst thing that anyone can do, is strip paint indoors; this is followed by putting fuel in your car and showering with chlorinated water.

But what can we do? The whole world is moving forward and somehow we are unable to escape from all of these dangers, are we all doomed? Or is this just scare mongering?
