Farmer builds castle, then hides it

Building your own castle may be many landowners dream, and for a farmer who has a lot of land and not many neighbours, it is a tempting prospect and one farmer Robert Fidler could not resist the temptation and began to create a mock Tudor residence.

But there would always be the possibility that someone may see the imposing structure, because although it was on farm land, there are always visitors and walkers who could see the structure and report it to the authorities.

So in order to hide this new accommodation he hid the structure behind a forty foot stack of bales of hay until the family decided to move in, then all of sudden the landscape had changed and the neighbours and local planning officers are most defiantly not impressed. The matter will be settled in February.
